Musicness Suggestion
Summer Olympics 2012?
Alright since its been such a coons age since our last post, we thought that we would treat you.
Just Click the play button.
What you see in the video is Suzi doing a floor routine for her Elementary PE class. After Suz does her cartwheel at the beginning she does a nice looking twisty move...well that is not a twisty move that is Suzi's impression of a back flip. If you ask me this one was WAY better than a normal back flip...heck probably a lot harder too. She is a funny girl I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do.
***Update on our life....we are doing great! Suz is almost done with classes. After this semester she will hopefully be student teaching in the fall. She had an interview with Ace hardware and we should be hearing back from them next week sometime. She will probably get a job this summer doing something, I am not too worried she'll follow in my footsteps, she is far prettier, smarter, and more cleaver. As for me I am just anxiously awaiting school to start. My projection for graduation is the fall of 2011...so there is a faint/dim light at the end of my education tunnel. I am excited to sing in Priesthood conference that should be an amazing experience. Maybe I will share what I feel will satisfy your urges in a blog post sometime in July.

The many sides of my Suzi

Live Blog....sorta
What exactly am I blogging? Well its a Captains Meeting for rec sports here at the good ol Burg. Some may say, "I wonder why he would choose that for a live play-by-play blog?" Well its obvious Suzi is here and she has a role in this meeting. So hold on to your butts it WILL a bumpy ride....I failed to mention the this meeting was for co-ed basketball.
7:55 pm Suzi is drawing a basketball standard and ball on the blackboard. Its amazing the talent this girl has. Glancing around I see that the spectators are enthralled by this. Suzi really has a knack for this. The slow trickle of participants through the door to my right is very distracting.
7:58 Suzi stands at the pulpit with an ere of command. And the people, or what I like to call them "The Lemmings". Are slowly edging forward eager for this highly anticipated captains meeting to get started.
8:01 Now its getting good...the meeting is about to start and I see that Suzi is talking with one of the "higher ups" of rec sports, while working on a computer. The crowd is getting a little antsy...they better get this started, or there will be a revolt on their hands. And if that happens I will get out of here quickly.
8:03 Wow! Only at BYU-Idaho will they begin with prayer...what an atmosphere.
8:04 Suzi just left...no one knows where she went...I don't even know where she went and I am married to her. However, the meeting continues. The feeling in the room is different, I bet it is because Suzi left. It has to be!
8:06 Suzi is still gone. Nothing to exciting is going on , but the suspense is rising. I compare it to a time I had to live blog an enrichment night back at home.
8:09 You guessed it Suzi is still gone. I look down to her fellow co-workers and they look lost and confused. She needs to get back. The room is filling slowly. Rec-Sports need their leader.
8:10 After 6 minutes SUZI IS BACK!!! The feeling in the room is back to normal. The crowd seems more at ease since "The RETURN"
8:12 I am biting my nails. It is almost time for Suzi's performance. I would deem it Oscar worthy.
8:13 Suzi is playing with her lips...she may be nervous, but she looks so poised. I envy her.
8:14 She is sitting on the railing, the nervousness is gone. WOW!
8:14 I know I know....She just yawned. Hang in there Suz.
8:16 A phone just rang in a very quiet atmosphere...and he is getting escorted off the premises. I cheer for the security. That guy should know better.
8:18 She is up here we go....Suzi is discussing the rec sports sportsmanship policy. Her first question...handled it perfectly.
8:19 A silly question was asked and Suzi made the guy look childish. She is talking about Suspensions at the like. Just listening to her makes me quake.
8:21 So commanding yet so nice and inviting. NO TOLERANCE POLICY WITH PROFANITY...that's amazing. If it even sound like it your be punished.
8:22 Makes the crowd laugh with..."if someone actually says shin splints during the game" that was a response to a question that was asked cornering to my post at 8:21.
8:25 Showing how to create a team. One word...Flawless
8:27 Going over some rules now...It took her awhile to get to the screen...kinda an awkward moment.
8:28 She discusses a strategy...that was our strategy. We'll have to have a talk later
8:29 The crowd is beginning to ask stupid questions..."Can I block a girl", "Can I jump on a girls head" you know stuff like that.
8:31 Makes the crowd laugh with some noise that resembles hq8hwchcwLLLYYLL. They loved that.
8:33 The meeting is over...Never mind more questions. You know that these questions were answered earlier. If only they listened.
8:35 meeting ends.....And it was Oscar worthy.

A Long Over-due Post
Ty and I are doing very well back up here in the Burg. It's freezing outside, but NOT in our APARTMENT! YES!!! We are now nice and toasty thanks to the state of Idaho helping us out. Having a warm apartment makes such a big difference in the feel of the home. You feel more loved when you walk in. I like to think that the heat wraps me up in a big hug and says, "No worries cold Suzi, I will keep you warm..." Or maybe those are just Tyrel's arms and I'm crazy. Either way, I'm a warm crazy.
School is going well for me so far. I like all of my classes and teachers. Most all of them have a sense of humor so it makes my days go by much better. None of the boring lecture kind of stuff. I will share a few stories from last week.
My first class of the semester was Use and Abuse with Brother Matt Christenson. Matt is what one would stereo-type as a large, bald man who loves his hostess products (no I am not being rude, this man has said all of these things about himself). The topic of the day was, well, drugs. But not the type of drugs you are thinking about. These are the drugs that we all partake of in our own lives whether it might be your daily diet coke, midnight snacking, over spending, etc, etc. Just the things that we all do a little too much of that we know we should cut back on but we don't because when we do it, it alters chemicals in our brains and makes us feel good (a lame-man's definition of a drug). Well, my all to honest teacher decided to share with us that his drug of choice is Hostess fruit pies...When they go on sale he will buy 6 of them and eat them all one after another. He also loves donuts, which he will buy a dozen on the way home and only four make it there. These types of things are not what you expect to hear from a Health teacher...but this is what he chose to share. Moving on with the lesson, he started to make a list of possible "drugs" people can't get enough of. So what is the first thing he writes up on the board in big letters, points at, and with a authoritarian voice says "DRUG!" Yeah, you may have guessed it...Sex. The whole class goes quiet... He fills the gap with this comment..."Do you think my wife thinks I am addicted to Sex? You bet she does... Do I think she is? Absolutely not, because I'm big, bald and fat. Maybe if I looked like Brad Pitt we would have a different situation on our hands." OH my! Way too much information Teach! I just hope that the day never comes that I start off my first day of class with such a conversation. Sorry to any of you possible underage readers. I do not mean to be crude. I just want to give you all a taste of my time in Use and Abuse.
My next story occured in my Reading in Content class. Right when I walked in I knew I was going to be entertained this semester because there sat Melissa, the cousin of our Brian Cook. My previous experience with Melissa left me with sore abdominals due to constant laughter. Keep in mind that I find the slightest things funny. So we are sitting there learning about how the Hymn "Be Thou Humble" can relate to teaching and my teacher writes up on the board, "With a Pure and Gentle Love..." (a line from the text). Suddenly a jazzy voice from the back corner belts out, "PUUUURE AND GEEEENTLE LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVEE!" Maybe you had to be there, but the expression on my teacher's face was priceless, and he followed it up with asking her to do it again, which in turn put a priceless look on her face of embarassment and awkwardness. It's like that moment where you make a wierd noise, and someone thought it was silly so to make you feel kinda silly and dumb they tell you to do it again and it is NEVER as good the second time. It was like that. But, being Melissa, she over came and did it again. Plus when class ended with an amen comment, another jazzy moment from the back boomed, "AMEN, HALLELUJAH! It should be an entertaining year.
Well, sorry if those bored you and didn't seem as funny because you weren't there. I mainly write them so I will have a record of them and be able to look back and laugh.
Tyrel is doing well. He has come up with an idea for a book that I think would be really cool. I won't tell you what it is though...HAA! He also figured out his grad plan and it turns out he could graduate Winter 2011 if he can get on fastgrad. Our goals are within reach! Ty is still job searching. Rexburg is a cruel place for married, off-track students who need a job. Hopefully something will pop up soon. We can get by though, so don't worry about us too much. With my job and Ty selling plasma we will make enough to get the bills paid and have some food (we hope :) ).
Ty is planning on playing on a competitive basketball team. Tryouts are today, but no one gets cut from these tryouts, so he is for sure on. It will be fun to watch him play and I know he will have a good time and make some good friends. I think my old roommate is actually going to be his assistant coach...her name is Coach... So yeah, if you ever want to come up for a weekend let us know and maybe you could come catch one of his games. I know he would love to have fans there.
Well, I will end this too long of a post here.

My whipped up story by Tyrel
dance with death
I will never forget my walk home after my basketball game. It was cold and snowy like it usually is in Rexburg...the more I think about it the more I think it was July. Yes you read that right cold and snowy. In July.
While walking I could have sworn I heard someone following me. This of course would not surprise someone like me, I'm always being followed these days by one thing or another. I turned around quilckly and saw nobody there, but I could sense that someone was there, or something. Then it dawned on me, maybe it was my "buddy" Jack, he's always following me. It can get annoying at times, but I like it, he makes me feel like I am somebody. He makes me feel important. I was convinced it had to be Jack. My walk home now was not as bad.
Then I heard it again. I turned quickly and right in front of me was a man of some sort, hooded and cloaked with an eerie quality. He looked at me pointed and said, "Hey Tyrel, wanna dance?" I looked back confused, shrugged my shoulders and said sure. Cloak man whipped out a long flat piece of card board, pulled out his huge Ghetto Blaster. Cloak man tighten up his sneakers, I tightened mine. He walked over to the Stereo pushed play revealing a tight 80's break dance beat. I was pumped and ready to go. Before we started we shook hands and he finally revealed his name....death. I was slightly taken aback, but whatever I was ready to dance with death.

The goings on the past 1.5 mths
Sports:
Suz and I were participants in a variety of sports this fall. I played softball and flag football. My sweet wife played Softball, Flag Football, Basketball, and Compet Soccer (Head Coach). With all of these sports going on I am very pleased to say that I did not miss one of Suzi's games. I even missed one of my football games so I could watch Suzi play in her football game. I will proudly admit that I am the team mascot, follower, cameraman, and the #1 fan. No one can compete with me.
We played on the same softball team, Bird Family Favorites. This was the BYU-I Grounds Crew softball team. We weren't very good at all...at times it was pretty embarrassing. I think we actually won one real game where we played against a full team all our other wins came from forfeits. Our first tournament game we got beat pretty good ending our season.
My Flag Football team was a mediocre team that won one playoff game. My quarterback didn't have eyes for me when I was running my routes, so I didn't get the ball very much. I played with one of my friends that I work with on grounds. I was just thankful that I got to play, I was really worried that all I would be doing is playing softball this semester.
Now Suzi's Flag Football is a completely different story. The Wildcats are a dominant team with dominant players. There wasn't one girl on her team that was awkward or uncoordinated in anyway...so, no liabilities. In the League this year there were maybe 4 teams that could play with them for a minute than the Wildcats would shift gears and the game would be over. This season was a first for them they had one team score one touchdown on them...it was kinda a fluke because Suzi wasn't in the game at the time. Yes even Suzi has to rest. The outscored their opponents like 2354779-6, their pretty good.
Basketball is still going on for a couple more weeks for her. They're not as dominant as flag football was, but with all the same girls playing ball with each other there still a dang good team.
Competitive Soccer was really fun to be a part of this year. Suzi was the head coach, she did such a good job bringing her team together and helping them realize their potential. It was a lot of fun watching her be the "General" of this team. Keep reading and you'll see how good of a player/coach she really is.
I hope to have some sweet pictures of her playing sports as soon as I can. I do have some pretty sweet video of her flag football.

Aging: A Sneaky Thing

I am one of you...
Well, a quick update. Tyrel and I are back to work and things are going well. We put in a couple of ten hour days that were very long and very hot, but we survived and are better for it. Now 8 hour days don't seem as tedious! Tyrel decided not to take the job offer previously mentioned. With it only being part time and gas prices so out of control it just wont cut it. We are hoping for a similar job offer closer to home though. We should find out about those this week since school will be starting on the 25th and most hiring will be done by then.
This weekend Tyrel planned a fun date to a Lake in Rigby. Complete with Catalina dutch oven chicken, picnic supplies, a football, and some perfect skipping rocks that he secret agented off of campus. It was a fun time, and there were tons of cute little kids playing in the water. I longed for little ones of my own...
On Sunday Brian and Kayla invited us over for dinner. Kayla is a great Cook...Brian is a lucky man! We are very blessed to have those two to hangout with every now and then. It's good to have other people to talk to. Next week we are going to have them over.
Ty and I continue to press through the sludge. At times it is a little stickier and deeper than other times but we pull each other through. I'm hoping to see a nice downhill in the future that could turn into somewhat of a fun slip and slide! Wouldn't that be neat?! Only time will tell if that desired land feature is in my future.
School is looking like it's going to be really great for me come Fall. I've just talked to a counselor and found out I only need 11 more credits of math to be endorsed to teach it AND I can petition for a scholarship for student teaching that I thought was out of reach because I would have too many credits. It is SO nice to get good news from school counselors every now and then. My graduation plans are going just as scheduled. Three more semesters and I'M DONE! Well, at least for now...
That's all I've got. I hope you all are doing well. We love you all!

Whoa an Update
This is when Suz and I were in Utah the week before Mothers Day...we went to the Zoo! And yes I am serious taming that wild beast. The Tuzi clan planned for a good 5 hours for a Zoo trip, but in the end we only needed 2.
