Aging: A Sneaky Thing

I am now becoming so good at blogging that I am updating you on an event that occured only moments ago...

Sunday is a special day which is worthy of a special dinner. Tonight Tyrel is blessing our dining experience with some homemade fried chicken (or at least that is what it tastes like :) ). I, Suzi, was given the responsibility of mixing fruit and preparing corn bread. So, I went to work.

Fruit responsibility...check!

Preparing corn bread muffins...check!

Just as I was going to go set the table, Tyrel asks, "What are these doing here?" (Please, direct your eyes to picture A)

(picture A)

Yes, those are the paper muffin liner things (baking cups) in the MICROWAVE! I have no recollection of doing this. My birthday is a month from tomorrow. Though my body is turning 22, my mind is hitting early 80's. First it was never knowing where my keys are, then I found myself always having to say, "WHAAA?" when Tyrel is speaking and I can't hear him, and now this! I worry for down the road when I have more important things to be keeping track of. One day we might just find my children "put away" in the pantry.

Now feast your eyes on Ty's chicken...

Well, til next time! (Judy, if you read this post you might recognize the chicken. We made it just for you once upon a time. If you come back we will make it for you again!)

I am one of you...

Quick story... I am now a true Salisbury, not just on official documents. So there I was at the end of Sacrament meeting filling out a tithing slip. I had just finished writing my full name, Suzanne Salisbury, and moved on to the address. Writing very quickly I made a small mistake. Instead of "Rexburg" I wrote "RexburY". I am now Suzi Salisbury from the town of Rexbury.

Well, a quick update. Tyrel and I are back to work and things are going well. We put in a couple of ten hour days that were very long and very hot, but we survived and are better for it. Now 8 hour days don't seem as tedious! Tyrel decided not to take the job offer previously mentioned. With it only being part time and gas prices so out of control it just wont cut it. We are hoping for a similar job offer closer to home though. We should find out about those this week since school will be starting on the 25th and most hiring will be done by then.

This weekend Tyrel planned a fun date to a Lake in Rigby. Complete with Catalina dutch oven chicken, picnic supplies, a football, and some perfect skipping rocks that he secret agented off of campus. It was a fun time, and there were tons of cute little kids playing in the water. I longed for little ones of my own...

On Sunday Brian and Kayla invited us over for dinner. Kayla is a great Cook...Brian is a lucky man! We are very blessed to have those two to hangout with every now and then. It's good to have other people to talk to. Next week we are going to have them over.

Ty and I continue to press through the sludge. At times it is a little stickier and deeper than other times but we pull each other through. I'm hoping to see a nice downhill in the future that could turn into somewhat of a fun slip and slide! Wouldn't that be neat?! Only time will tell if that desired land feature is in my future.

School is looking like it's going to be really great for me come Fall. I've just talked to a counselor and found out I only need 11 more credits of math to be endorsed to teach it AND I can petition for a scholarship for student teaching that I thought was out of reach because I would have too many credits. It is SO nice to get good news from school counselors every now and then. My graduation plans are going just as scheduled. Three more semesters and I'M DONE! Well, at least for now...

That's all I've got. I hope you all are doing well. We love you all!

WOW! Do we still have a BLOG?

Hey everyone!  If any of you were wondering...if you ever, lets say, forget...ya forget to check your blog for about a month, it will still be there waiting for you just how you left it.  I know some of you may have been worried about this and have been frantically making sure to check your blog once an hour, but be at ease.  The Blog Master is kind enough to keep neglected Blogs in business despite the owner's cruel abuse.

With that said, I would like to submit an update.  My heart wishes I had more creative writing skills that could compare with Abby's "letter", but alas...I have them not.  So you just get random thoughts pitched on to a page  (I would like you all to take a moment and picture me at a pitcher's mound winding up and throwing each individual word crashing on to the screen).

Tyrel and I are finally back in Rexburg.  Daunting as the idea of returning was, we have made it back and things aren't as, how do you say "scary" as we thought they would be.  We truly are blessed and despite uneasy trials we face, we have the Lord on our side.  I would like to take a moment and thank you sisters and the fam for being such a support to us at this time.  We love you all and pray that one day we can help you the way you have helped us.  You sisters are becoming types of best friends to me and I couldn't be happier about it. So thank you for all the prayers and support.

Good news! Tyrel already has an interview for a job... TOMORROW! It's for a "Suspension Aide" at a Junior High in Idaho Falls.  It is only part time and we aren't sure of all the details, but it's a blessing just to know that employers are out there and looking for a guy like Tyrel. This job might not be the one, but we are confident that one will come soon.

Now one final thought...

Rushing Rivers are therapy... If ever you have need to escape life and feel peace along with some entertainment pull up a Cabela's camping chair and kick back by the side of Provo river with a bag full of "Dill Pickle" Sunflower Seeds.
